I took a walk yesterday as the sun was setting, while the sky was still light. At that time of day the heat has not yet faded. Birds are busy chasing daylight. Near the Rio Grande swarms of gnats and mosquitoes form miniature murmurations. I tried to go around the swirling insect clouds unsuccessfully, accidentally swallowing one or two on an inhale. Blech. This village needs more bats to bring down the pest population.
Along the way I found more desert art to share.
