It’s been a packed week, so I haven’t written about my adventures in Scottsdale yet. Lessons learned and observations:
1. Highway 10 between NM and AZ is a giant wind tunnel and heavily trafficked by RVs and semis.
2. Driving an RV in windy conditions is gruelling. I survived.
3. Saguaro cacti always look like they’re giving us the finger. Anarchist watchmen, surviving against all odds.
4. Winter in Arizona should be called something else.
5. Vanity plates are popular here. I think it’s a sign of optimism and self esteem. Only people who want attention create cute, exuberant license plates. The desert breeds resilience. These people are unshakably happy.
And now for something completely different…
