WordPress tells me I should introduce myself, even though only my closest, most dedicated friends will MAYBE read this blog. I’m Megan. And you are?
I’ll be blogging about my adventure and experience while living in an RV, and working remotely. I’ll be staying in various locations, which I will describe in words and photos. I will also be discovering how best to get fast internet either from the RV, in cafes, on college campuses through eduroam, or mooching off of friends’ wi-fi.
I decided to move into an RV because rents and property prices in Colorado are ridiculously high. My rent was about to go up about $100 dollars a month, again, for the second year out of two. I said to the women in the leasing office, “My apartment hasn’t gotten any bigger. Why should I have to pay more?” They didn’t find this amusing. People often don’t read the humor in my deadpan statements or questions, at which point they try to actually respond as if I’m being serious. Sigh. Nevermind.
This blog will be about two main topics:
- RV Life
- Online education
I may throw in some posts about dogs, nature, the kindness of strangers, you know – miscellaneous stuff. I used to write about all of these types of things in journals, all of which I still possess. I will be carrying those with me, because goodness knows I can’t leave them lying around anywhere! As much as I love writing for my own pleasure and self-care, I hope to use this blog to connect with people also living in RVs, and people who work in distance education, eLearning, ed-tech, instructional design, and all of the other jargon-ese thrown about in my profession.
I plan to explore places I’ve never seen, visit friends I have only chatted with online during the last couple of decades (we didn’t have farcebook in the olden days), meet new people, roam, rest, and work. And write. Through this year I hope to become an expert in RV living, discover whether it’s really the lifestyle for me, share information and learn new things about instructional design, develop a daily yoga practice, spend time outdoors, and grow in all sorts of directions.
Please share this with anyone you think might be the least bit interested in roaming around learning about life.
